My favorite cheetahs in Zambia
I’m amazed that it has been almost 10 years since I started learning how to day trading. When I was younger I was always selling something; mixtape CD’s when CD burning software first came out, when financial calculators first flooded the market I was the man boy to see if you needed one, I even sold pastries as breakfast in high school when I wasn’t supposed to.
Even though it was illegal, I would have a line as both students and teachers would want to buy their breakfast in the morning. Everything was sold at one dollar a pastry and even the principal and teachers would line up for breakfast.
I wasn’t into the 9-5, I was more interested in working for my definition of success, by the age of 16 I was already working for jobs. It wasn’t about being a millionaire or owning a Ferrari, it wasn’t about having the nice issues or watch. It was about freedom.
The freedom to live the life that I wanted to live
I moved to Italy and since I had to keep my promise to my mother to finish university, I enrolled in a school in Sicily to finish my degree. Things got complicated and I had to come back to the states where I began my day trading journey. I took out $25,000 in student loans and did what everyone would do, I did a Google search for day trading software and bought the first program I found.
I lost the $25,000 in 1 month. I was a student, in college, working for $8 an hour.
I was working full time, going to school full time, and trying to learn how to day trade. I pulled 2 to 3 all nighters a week to study charts and popped NyQuils like Skittles to sleep and wake up for exams. It was hard, exhausting, and nearly impossible. But it didn’t matter. I had one goal in mind and that was my freedom.
I wanted to get into day trading because it would give me the freedom to work whenever and more importantly, where ever I wanted. Nearly ten years later I now consider myself a Wandering Day Trader (WanderingTrader) as I day trade and travel around the world. I run a travel blog called WanderingTrader.com where I share how I balance day trading and traveling at the same time.
I’ve started The Day Trading Academy to help others people reach their dreams and have a more in depth view of day trading. I’ve seen a lot of bad things in this industry and most people that want to start day trading are taken for quite a ride, a ride that’s worth tens of thousands of dollars. I know I started when I was in college and I really couldn’t afford to start day trading. This new venture is meant to help everyone that wants to get started.
If you want to learn send me a message via my contact page, its never too late to get started.
